Hintons’s article (14/11/2014) suggests that people with good tastes are artists, which is a talent which you may or may not have. The word: artist already singles you out, making you different and appear more valued than anyone else. This suggests that people with good tastes are more precious. Being an artist is dividing you away from the non artists giving you a sense of rarity. Although this may be seen as a form of arrogance and that having good taste isn’t just a selected minority of people which have a taste, everyone has a taste which necessarily isn’t seen as a gift. It was suggested that ‘criticism would often be largely based on mere visual perception, rather than actual user experience’. It appears judging something just because it doesn’t fit our style is something which we all are guilty of (Agbo M. 14/11/2014).
